Inuaguration And President Day

As you know this half term our topic focus is American All Stars. The American Presidential Inauguration took place on 20th January, so we decided to spend our day learning about the process and carrying out Inauguration themed activities.  The children debated their views about schools and education; and then went on to write presidential speeches.  From these we had a class election and President Tyla Shepherd was elected to office. One day was allocated to allow the President to take charge of their learning. President Shepherd asked her class what activities they wanted to do and had the final decision on the day. On ‘Presidents day’ the children carried out a multiplication hunt, a SPAG states game and an obstacle relay course in their house teams. It was a very eventful and exciting day. Hail to the chief!
