Ellingham Primary School

Strong roots for flourishing futures


Uniform is an important part of a school’s identity. It reinforces who we are as a community and allows students to take pride in their school. It also helps prepare students for secondary school and for life after school, when many will have to dress smartly.

The basic Ellingham colours are Royal Blue and White.

  • Royal blue jumper or cardigan with logo
  • Dark grey school trousers, shorts, skirt, skort or pinafore dress
  • White shirt or blouse
  • Royal blue check summer dress
  • Plain white, grey or black socks



  • Black leather/leather-effect school shoes (From September ankle and knee-high boots will not be allowed)
  • Trainers are not allowed in lessons but children can change into them at breaks/lunch to avoid damage to school shoes.



  • One small stud can be worn in each ear - children must remove earrings during PE sessions
  • One wrist watch
  • No other jewellery is to be worn, unless for religious reasons and after consultation with your child’s class teacher



  • Hair accessories should be simple and be black, brown or royal blue. Please avoid items like large bands, bows and flowers.
  • Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back so that it is not a distraction during lessons and for safety reasons during PE



  • No make-up should be worn.  Nail varnish remover will be made available for use by children who come into school wearing nail varnish
